ADVERTISING Journey Through the Code, Entry #6

Jenny/ January 28, 2020/ Homeschool Reviews

Oops, I made a booboo last week. I posted my Journal Entry for Journey Through the Code for The Kingdom Code as #6 but it was actually #7. We did 2 lessons in one week and I simply got them mixed up. Real life happens people, but I do apologize. Here is the Journal Entry #6 šŸ™‚ Sorry about that! This week’s lesson was about advertising!

What we learned this week?

ADVERTISING! Its truly the make or break it for your business! If you have good advertising you can have an awesome business, but poor advertising can literally destroy your business.

There are different forms of advertising. Some are free and some cost money. The free includes word of mouth (satisfied customers telling other people), signage, free items & social media (like Facebook & Pinterest).

Forms of paid advertising might be ads in newspapers, magazines, online ect…

We personally discussed using free advertising because its an awesome way to start your business with little upfront costs. This is extremely important in starting up businesses.

What advertising did my son decide on?

Where we live (very rural) some forms of advertising are simply more practical than others. My son decided he could make flyers for the gas station that is nearest us, put a sign out by our driveway and word of mouth.

We also learned about customer service and how excellent customer service is a NECESSITY to a successful business.

Why we do this?

You may be wondering why would you go to all this trouble to teach a 9 year old to start and run his own business? I’m so glad you asked!

This is LIFESCHOOLING! I mean really this is preparing them not for an “eventual I might use this someday” but for a “I will use this as a foundation in my life”!

You can’t go wrong when you train someone to be an entrepreneur. They will never be satisfied with the status quo when they know they can run their own business successfully because they were trained to!
