Using Neuroplasticity with Forbrain!

He was perfectly healthy otherwise, we had no indication that he wouldn’t speak until he was 3 years old (other than a few words). I had never even heard of neuroplasticity or I would have begun this much earlier! Earlier this year we were blessed to review Soundsory and saw a great deal of improvement, so when I saw that the same company made a product called Forbrain, which was specifically designed for those with speech delay I contacted them about a review. I was thrilled when they agreed!
Neuroplasticity? What’s that?
I had never heard of neuroplasticity until this year, now it seems like I hear about it everywhere! In a nutshell, because it’s definitely not simple, it’s the brain’s ability to change, grow and rebuild. Music, sound and movement are all a part of this!
What is Forbrain?
Forbrain is a device that the person wears that enhances how they hear. You not only hear through your ear canal but also through the bones in your head! In fact, your head bones are amazingly more sensitive than your ear. This device is a specialized headset that is rechargable! You or your child will wear it and speak into it to improve speech and memory.
How we used it!
I had our son wear this while I read books to him. I then had him repeat back a section of the reading. When I spoke, I got close to the microphone so he could hear it very clearly. I also had him sing songs with me, with both of us singing into the microphone.
I noticed an almost immediate improvement in his speech clarity. He was able to say several words right away that he always struggled with such as the phrase “Tom and Jerry”. Since beginning it his speech is definitely improving and he is trying new words on a regular basis. I have noticed that he is singing more also!
What we think of it!
I think this is amazing! If you are like me and have a desire to help your child at home this is the perfect solution! You can use it everyday and as frequently as you want! While of course there are times you may need a professional to help, in my opinion empowering the parents to deal with all learning problems is the best way to help children! Forbrain does just that!
