Lesson #18 What’s My Goal?

Jenny/ May 31, 2020/ Homeschool Reviews

Welcome to Lesson #18 What’s My Goal with The Kingdom Code! This lesson is about learning to check your goals you’ve set, adjust them if necessary and preservere to reach them! We learned new bookkeeping words such as gross profit, net profit and more.

So how does Jake’s business stack up so far? In the last few weeks he has earned over $5 a week doing the laundry, watching his baby sister. Today he went and helped his Grampa work in the garden and received a $1 for that. He has had $0 in expenses so far. Of course that’s because of the type of work he is doing right now (laundry, household chores and babysitting). Later when he’s raising bunnies or selling vegetables he will obviously have expenses.

He has been learning about the goal he has for himself (to attend a pilot academy in Texas) and we have been encouraging him in areas he needs to improve in to meet his goal! I can see definite improvement in areas of taking responsibility and initiative. One really awesome improvement we have seen is his desire to read his Bible. We bought him a new Bible and he is reading it independently each day. This is HUGE because he does not like to read independently.

this is the academy he wants to attend

I’m also seeing a genuine desire to help others in him. He seems to be taking his learning to heart and applying it in everyday life.

An example of working towards a goal that we just discovered last night is this: he’s wanting to be able to bow hunt this fall. However he struggles to pull his bow back consistently. So he is going to start practicing daily with resistance bands until he is strong enough to meet his goal!

Jam Jake helped me make!

So if you’re reading this post and wondering what on earth I’m jabbering about its an entrepreneur program for kids from The Kingdom Code! We were chosen to show journal entries of our lessons as we work through the program. Join us next week as we complete lessons 19 & 20!
