We always enjoy incorporating new things into our homeschool so when we were offered the chance to review Byron’s Games and the Connections Stationary Kit I was excited! For our review we received 25 sheets of stationary paper, 25 envelopes, stickers, a thank you stamp and 2 different ink pads along with a nice writing ink pen. This was all packaged in a sturdy, reusable box.

Why use a stationary kit?

First off, this is a really cool set! My kids loved it, from my 9 year old son to my 3 year old daughter. They all thought it was the coolest thing. It is decorated in kid friendly fashion and in my house appealed to both boys and girls.

So anyway, why would you use a stationary kit? In our house it presented a great opportunity to give some special letters to aunts, grandma and each other. They’re also using them for pen pal letters. Somehow this kit just made everything seem a little more fun and unique than just plain paper and envelopes!

And I don’t know about you but anything that will encourage my 9 year old son to write is a great idea!

What’s the quality like?

The quality of this kit is really good! The stationery paper is thick and durable. The stamps pick up and hold ink well to stamp on the paper. The envelopes are a heavy weight and neither the paper nor the envelopes bleed when written or stamped on. You do need to seal the envelopes with a sticker.

I was impressed with the quality of the supplies in the kit! It is recommended for ages 6+. I second that, because my 3 year old daughter got ahold of it and stamped “thank you” all over her arms. Sigh…

How did this company start?

Byron’s Games was started with a heart to help others! Byron was a normal, 6 year old boy when he was unexpectedly hospitalized and found out he wanted to help others in the same spot! So, he came up with a game called the Continent Race. This looks like a super neat geography board game! The first player to collect the required number of country cards from each continent wins! It can be played with multiple players 🙂 A portion of the proceeds goes to select children’s charities!

I personally love products that are specifically geared towards children and from children! That is such a wonderful way not only to teach entrepreneurship but also generosity and kindness and compassion towards others! Not only would these make great gifts for your own kids but you also might consider buying some and letting your children donate them to the children’s hospitals!
