Kingdom Code Kids Entrepreneur Program Review

Jenny/ June 17, 2019/ Homeschool Reviews

My son Jake really wants to work for himself when he is grown, so I was thrilled when we got to review a program called The Complete Starter Kit from The Kingdom Code.

This is an entrepreneurship program designed especially for children that is based on the Bible. To my knowledge this is the only one like this I’ve ever heard of.

What’s included?

We were blessed with the entire kit so we got the textbook, student packet and teacher’s guide. They also sent us The itKingdom Code Coloring Book and Jr. Budget Kit. I want to note that this is intended to be used with one student.

The textbook is spiral bound. The student packet and teacher’s guide are loose leaf.

There are worksheets, posters, stickers, receipt book, forms for businesses and more in the packets. There is also a treasure map!

How we used this program:

This is a pretty intensive program. I really would recommend it being done as more than an elective (which it is advertised as). With a bit of tweaking you could use it as math (which is what we often did). It also has a lot of scripture so you could do it as part of your Bible study too!  (We used it as our Bible study also). I love programs that multitask!

There is a lot of reading, so I read this aloud to my son each morning. He actually loved it and would ask me to keep reading. He especially was crazy about the Knight theme and had me contact the company to see where the kids in the photos got their knight costumes.

It is very thorough and goes into exactly how different aspects of our economy works capitalism/free enterprise ECT…  It not only defines these words but explains in child friendly terms what they really mean for us. I am learning this stuff right along with him, because we never learned these things in school!

The kids are challenged by making proclamations each week. Jake really enjoyed standing up and raising his hand to make these!

The attention to detail is amazing in this set!  It literally walks your child through every step necessary to starting and running a business God’s Way!

What we are doing with it?

Jake is currently in the service business stage. We do have to somewhat tweak it for our location. We are very rural, so he can’t exactly walk door to door and he’s only 8 so he’s not yet capable of doing some jobs without direct supervision. Here’s what we’re doing instead:

He’s been working for us in different jobs, such as gardening, hauling, stacking, splitting wood, lawn cleanup and housework.  We have been paying him for these jobs as they are above the normal expected work.

He has been saving his money for different things he would like to purchase and has already been able to purchase a couple of things he wanted.

I really think this program will just continue to be even more useful as he gets older. We will just keep building on the principles he is learning. I believe that he will be ready as a teenager or young adult to successfully run his own business and I will definitely credit this program with a great deal of his success!

JR. Budget Kit & Kingdom Code Kids Coloring Book:

We were also given these extras!  Since his younger brother Gabe was too young to do the intensive program I gave these to him to use. He really enjoyed the coloring book.  It is full of pictures to color with knights and ladies, medieval scenes, Bible verses, ECT…

The JR. Budget Kit is designed for kids too young to complete the big course and helps them learn about handling money God’s Way.

I’m very pleased with this program and how it’s going so far!

I hope you’ll check it out and see the benefit it can have for your kids and starting them out young to have an entrepreneur mindset.
