Do you love a good board game? If so you’ll love the Math Sprint-The Mental Math Game we reviewed from Byron’s Games! This is a physical board game that combines math practice with physical activity! How much cooler can you get?

What’s included in Math Sprint?

A foldable board, cards with math problems and answers, and 8 players are all included in the Math Sprint game. Up to 8 players can play at once. The board is lined with spaces and players run on their own individual slot.

How do you play it?

There are several ways to play the game so you can adjust it to your family’s needs.

We played with our 9, 6 and 3 year olds. I was the “coach” and asked all the questions. Since this game is SO flexible I was able to ask my older son harder questions and the younger ones easier questions. Quite frankly my older son wasn’t extremely excited that everyone finished at the same time which wouldn’t necessarily have happened if they were all asked questions on the same level. If you have several older ones you can take turns being the coach and the coach gets to pick the questions asked.

This game is excellent for practicing math skills and your children won’t even feel like they’re working because its FUN! At certain points in the game you will move onto physical activity spaces such as “hop 5 times” or “do 10 arm circles”.

There is addition, subtraction, multiplication and blank cards where the coach can write their own challenges! There are also cards that add a more challenging aspect to the game such as “a breeze blows you off course by …spaces”. We didn’t use these cards in our playing because quite honestly our younger ones would have gotten 😞 frustrated!

Math games are great for us because they challenge our brains to think without paper or calculators. My children are all learning to do math in their heads which is something I never learned in school! I used to envy my mother’s ability to figure dominoes rapidly in her head but now I’m watching my children attain that naturally. And using this game is one way we’re doing it!

Do we recommend it?

YES! This is an excellent choice for any homeschool family or any other family who wants to advance their children’s learning in a fun, effective way! It would also make a great gift that can be used for years. Everything is well made and durable to withstand many games!

We had the privilege of reviewing Byron’s Games earlier this year and their Stationary Kit! You can read our review on that also for a fun 🎁 gift!
