We have had the privilege of reviewing for Home School in the Woods before. So when we were given the Time Travelers U.S. History Studies~New World Explorers I was super excited because it went right along with what we are studying in our History!

Why choose Time Travelers?

First off, these are so awesome for homeschooling! They are downloadable, printable files so they are perfect for reusing in your family, using with multiple children at the same time and you can print only what you want. And of course with digital its easy to store!

Time Travelers is such a cool program though because you get to learn SO much. And it has a ton of projects to go along with it which is AWESOME if you have a hands on learner! Psst…these programs are EXTREMELY cost-effective so if you’re a frugal or thrifty homeschooler you are in luck!

So we spent our time learning about various New World Explorers, what contributions they made ECT. However they also had some super cool things like learning sailing terms, knot tying and ship terminology. My son particularly loved all of these! He got to practice knot tying and had fun discovering what different sayings we still use meant, like “under the weather” is an old sea term meaning you needed to go below decks to get away from the weather if it was making you feel sick.

They thought it was so funny that some people believed you could fall off the end of the 🌎 world. Yeah I had to agree with them! We pretended like we were going on a sailing ship for a journey to discover new lands and the boys told what provisions they would take. Would you like to take hardtack or ships biscuit with you or perhaps some salt horse (actually poor quality tough salted beef)? Maybe you’d like to deal with scurvy or other diseases and rats aboard ship?

Anyway, as always we have been thoroughly enjoying this history program! Home School in the Woods has absolutely loads of neat programs for your homeschool. We’ve reviewed them in the past which you can read by clicking these links: Middle Ages, and Colonial Life.

They also have a great one called U.S. Elections Lap-Pak which would be perfect to use this year. You can read about it on the blog. And speaking of their blog they have so many interesting blog posts, like “Yellowstone National Park is Created”, and “Charlotte Mason & Hands On History”. You’re sure to find something to interest you!

Don’t forget to check out the other reviews at the link below! We all reviewed different products! So, you can find other Time Travelers, Project Passport, Lap-Paks and more!
