I don’t know about you but I wasn’t actually taught why I believed what I belived nor was I taught how to reason with unbelievers in a God honoring way. So I was so happy to get to review the program from Pilgrim Rock, LLC called The Unbreakable Faith Course. This Christian apologetics program includes 2 textbooks, an online program with videos and quizzes and 2 years access.

Why would you need to teach Christian apologetics?

First off, why would I even want to take this course? This course is rated for high school students and provides 1 credit, just so you know. But I’m here taking it. Why? Because I need to! Not just for my own benefit but also the benefit of my children and a lost and dying world that desperately needs an accurate view of the Gospel.

I have 4 children and let me be completely honest here…discipleship and Christian apologetics is not easy. Especially when you are a sinful mom who has quite frankly never been trained in this area. Don’t get me wrong, my parents were absolutely wonderful people who loved me and loved the Lord but they never trained me to “give an answer to every man of the hope that lies within you.” I want something different for my kids. But sometimes I’m just shooting in the dark without any practical experience to guide me..Enter…Pilgrim Rock…

Wow! All I can say is wow! This program is completely and utterly impressive. If your teenager takes this its going to challenge them to the utmost. The language and meanings are deeply complex and it is not a skimming the surface kind of course.

If you’re a parent you should take this with your teenagers! I am so loving this course. Not because its easy and i can just fly right through it. Quite the contrary actually. Its making me think so deep and process all of this thoroughly.

How I’m using this apologetics course.

First off, I’m reading the textbooks to myself. My oldest is 9 and I’m giving him digestible bits and pieces from the 2 books. I love “The Box”. It is a shorter book and slightly easier read. It describes the conversations two neighbors have with each other, Mr. A (atheist) and Mr. C (Christian). The thought process is fascinating when you realize all unbelief stems back to a root cause.

Then there are the videos which help explain the book in a way that helps visual and audible learners. I’ve already made it through Part 1 and aced my quiz. Thank you very much, I’m taking a bow now (hehe). Actually the quiz was quite challenging. It was a timed 30 question quiz but after reading the books and watching the videos I was fully prepared!

One thing I understand so much better now is that unbelievers do not lack evidence of God. If they did then they would be excusable in their unbelief. After all, what kind of God would condemn a person for nor believing if the evidence was not complete! That made SO MUCH SENSE!

I will be continuing this course. Its really completely fantastic and would be a benefit to every Christian! Another thing it brings out that I love is that “God is who He is regardless of who you think He is.” That’s pretty profound but frankly it doesn’t matter what we think God is like. He is not impacted by whether or not we believe in Him or what we believe about Him!
