My Top 3 Goals for 2020!
I can hardly believe it but it’s already the 4th day of a brand new year! It always excites me to start a new year (and in this case a new decade also!). So, I’ve been setting some goals and here they are!
Goals for 2020 #1
I came up with 3 different categories I want to focus on this year. They are spiritual health, physical health and my blogging goals! My first one is my spiritual goals.
They are 1. To read a chapter from my Bible every day and imprint at least one verse as a focus verse. 2. To memorize a new Bible verse each week. 3. To make Bible study with my husband and children a PRIORITY!
So, what am I doing to make these goals successful? First off, I’m reading my Bible as soon as I get up! Before anything else, even working on my blog or drinking coffee, lol. Last night, we started watching a video series as a family that expounds on Biblical teaching by one of our favorite guys (Dr. S.M. Davis). He seriously has such awesome DVDs and CDs for spiritual growth!
My #2 2020 goal
My second goal focuses on my physical health. While I’ve been pretty diligent to take good care of myself I have slacked on the exercise part. I could blame it on the fact I have 4 young kids and very little solo time but it mostly comes down to not making it a priority. Oops!
So, this year it’s taking PRIORITY! I mean, I’m not getting any younger. It’s not going to get easier if I just don’t start. Therefore, my goal is to do 10-15 minutes of exercises at least 5 days a week. Is that going to make me a supermodel š¤. Wait a moment while I laugh hysterically here…nope, it’s not, but it will make me feel good and take away my muscle and joint soreness.
Is this an easy goal to keep? Nope, it’s most definitely not! I homeschool, have 4 children under 9, cook, clean and do some direct sales along with my blog. I don’t have time to devote to hours of exercise but I can do the 10-15 minutes if I’m persistent.
Goal #3
My third goal is all about my blog! I really, really, really want this blog to be a success! What does that mean to me? Well, it means several things…First, I want it to honor God & the things I hold dear to me. For example, I want it to be a shining light to homeschoolers and Christian families. Can you read and enjoy this blog if you aren’t a Christian? Definitely! God’s wisdom is universal and that’s what I hope to talk about but my main goal is to honor God with my words š
Secondly, I want this blog to be financially stable. Does this mean I want to get rich off it? I’m going to pause here and laugh for a moment. Who could answer that question to the negative. “No, I don’t want to get rich, I simply want to scrape by.” Actually, though my goal isn’t to get rich (that would be awesome, lol) its to make a comfortable income off of it. This would not only be a blessing to us right now (we do live on one income) but it would be a HUGE blessing when my husband becomes eligible to retire. Also, I just absolutely LOVE running my own business. I truly believe I was meant for that, because I constantly have ideas running through my head for building my business! (now, if I just had more technical know-how…sigh…)
That’s actually one of my goals with my blog this year: to learn how to do more technical stuff. It is most definitely NOT my area of expertise! But, if I’m going to have an online business and run it on a shoestring budget (at least for now) I’m going to have to learn to do a lot of stuff myself that I’m really not that crazy about. I honestly about went nuts trying to figure out how to set up google analytics š
Another of my blogging goals is to build my readership along with my email list! So, I’m working on freebies to give away (which is AWESOME for you!) and I’m considering designing some e-courses and starting to do YouTube videos. This is moderately scary AND exciting at the same time!
I am going to be focusing more on debt free living & living on one income in the New Year! I figure a lot of homeschool moms are living on one income but really want to go from surviving to thriving! Check back regularly for weekly articles on that! Of course, I’m still going to be writing LOTS of homeschool product reviews & lots of posts on how to educate your kids with a Wild & Free philosophy (if you don’t know what that is, you should read my posts on that!) “Wild+Free Review” & “Into the Wild~A Life of Adventure”
Lessor but still important goals…
I do have a few more goals. They mostly involve finances and becoming a better record keeper and saver! I really need to improve in those 2 categories š
