“Inspirational Homeschooling”, Encouragement for Moms!
Are you a homeschooling mom deeply in need of encouragement? Are you getting discouraged with the day-to-day details of your homeschool? If so then you need to read Inspirational Homeschooling by Yvonne Strachan. I was blessed this winter to find Yvonne online and offered to review her book. (I love homeschooling books so I was super excited to do this.) Read on to learn how to find encouragement for Moms!
Disclaimer: I received this book for my fair and honest review. I was not required to give a positive review or compensated in any other way!
Do you need encouragement for moms?
I don’t know about you but sometimes I really get down because I feel overwhelmed, tired and like I’m not progressing like I should. This book is like a breath of delicious spring air!
First off, this is a Christian homeschool guide to balancing academics and family life. Yes, you can still benefit if you aren’t a Christian but its specifically geared to the Christian family!
This book really covers the whole gamut of homeschooling life. It starts with building a sure foundation and covers topics like organizing, clutter control, discipline, family time, marriage, high school and much more!
What I enjoyed about Inspirational Homeschooling
I have to say this book is lovely (and big! 430 pages). Its packed with really practical helps for moms in your day to day life. She is incredibly honest and doesn’t try to portray that she has a “perfect” life as a homeschooling family. I don’t know about you but I love encouragement for moms that doesn’t make me feel like a failure.
She’s very helpful in ideas for implementing a homeschool routine (not schedule) and gives you lots of suggestions for what works in her life.
One thing I absolutely love is the focus on Jesus and his work in your and your family’s lives! I think all of us moms (and dads too) really need to see this as our main focal point for why and how we homeschool. Method and style doesn’t matter as long as our family has peace in it and centers around Jesus and His Word 🙂
Do I recommend this book?
COMPLETELY! This is a wonderful book for the newbie homeschooler and the veteran homeschool mom. Its not only a perfect gift for a friend but also a perfect gift for yourself. You can use it as a cozy winter read or a morning inspirational time after your Bible reading. Expect to be challenged and exhorted though! While it doesn’t pile on unhealthy guilt it also doesn’t leave you satisfied with mediocracy. And that in my opinion is a very good thing!
