"Learning About Science Collection, Level 3" Review

Jenny/ July 30, 2018/ Homeschool Reviews

Back earlier this year I participated in the Build Your Bundle homeschool resource sale.  I got so many neat products and two in particular I was excited about were from WriteBonnieRose and were Learning About Science Levels 1 & 2.  So when I was given the chance to review Learning About Science Collection, Level 3 (print edition) I was super thrilled!

Bonnie has done a great job on these science learning resources.  This set of 7 units contains Kinds of Animals and How They Live, What’s Going On Inside Plants?, Life in the Ocean’s Hidden Zones, Forecasting and Understanding the Weather, Discovering Rocks, Minerals & Crystals, Exploring the Earth’s Landforms, & Energy and Its Many Forms.

Basically, they are e-books with colorable (is that a word?) drawings in each section along with copywork on new words they’ll be learning.  At the end of each book is a section for review and the child can circle the correct picture for the questions.  We reviewed the print copywork version but there is also a cursive copywork set if you prefer that.  You simply download the files to your computer and then print as needed.  The first page is in color but the rest is black and white to help you save on ink (which I highly appreciate!).

We mainly worked on the “Forecasting and Understanding the Weather”, however we also started “Energy and Its Many Forms”.  In the weather book we learned what elements are needed to make weather and how different levels of these affect the type of weather we have.  We also learned how meteorologists use different tools to predict the weather.  Jake really enjoyed this section.  He loves science and since weather is something that affects us every day it was very applicable šŸ™‚

These are intended for elementary ages.  Jake is 7 and is loving them!  They aren’t too complicated but are still challenging enough to stretch his mind.  To go along with the weather section we are going to make a wind sock, and homemade barometer.  He’s also going to start keeping a daily weather journal.

We also started the Energy section as I mentioned and I think he’s really going to like that one also because he seems to be really interested in anything pertaining to electricity šŸ˜‰  We’re going to get Daddy to show him some basic wiring techniques (I’ll bow out on that project, its definitely not one of my strong points, lol).

Bonnie has so many neat resources she has created!  She has everything from FREEBIES  to books she has written and loads of really awesome coloring books that are learning ones such as the one on Benjamin Franklin.  She has something for each age level and I highly recommend her products!  Because we had liked the Learning About Science Collection, Level 1 and Learning About Science Collection, Level 2 so much I had planned to buy the 3rd level after we finished those 2 so it was really awesome for me to get to review it šŸ™‚

And while these are technically intended for homeschoolers you could also use them as a great bonus learning opportunities for your kids during summer break or if they need more challenging work!

And here’s a great offer from Bonnie for my readers!
