A Review of SchoolhouseTeachers.com Yearly Membership

Jenny/ January 8, 2018/ Homeschool Reviews

I have been given the privilege of reviewing the Yearly Membership for SchoolhouseTeachers.com.  This is a site that provides a comprehensive homeschooling package utilizing downloadable products, videos and other resources such as free access to World Book.

The video library is wonderful for me.  I love that it has no commercials to worry about (unlike YouTube).  We especially enjoyed the Donkey Ollie series which comes with Bible study questions.  The videos follow a little donkey through the death of Jesus, carries Saul as he becomes Paul and journeys to Egypt.  They are cute and very appealing to younger viewers while increasing their Bible knowledge.  My boys love Donkey Ollie!

I am especially interested in the Literacy Learning Center since I have a 7 & 4 year old who are learning/emerging readers.  I tried the New National First Reader (downloadable).  I downloaded

the 154 page PDF for my 7 year old to supplement his phonics program.  I love that the pictures used in the lessons are beautiful and appeal to little ones.  I can print off each day’s lesson or a whole week at once.  It has reading practice and handwriting practice in each lesson which utilizes both print and script practice.

I also checked out the World Book resource.  The World Book resource has hundreds of online books but the one I used was their reading program called Trek’s Travels.  Its a super cute interactive book series about a scarecrow who wants to fly away.  He learns colors, shapes, sounds, tastes and more on his journeys.  If your child isn’t reading yet, it will read it to him, highlighting each word.  If they are reading, they can simply read it to themselves.

We also explored some of the Art Programs for beginners.  In it my littles learned about primary, secondary & tertiary colors.  They also explained blending & colored a color wheel.  My 7 year old especially enjoyed this!

Something else about the membership that is wonderful is that its a family membership!  You pay for a family, not per child!  How awesome is that!

Honestly, you could homeschool all your children completely from this site.  You simply go in, browse through courses or pick a subject or look up specific grades.  There are downloadable ones & video courses.  You can also print out a comprehensive sheet for each grade.

Another feature I love with this is the magazine they provide 1-2 times per year in hard copy and the digital magazines each quarter.  They have so much wisdom, encouragement and resources within those pages!

I have been super thrilled with this site and very pleased with the value provided!  I would definitely purchase this every year to make my homeschooling much easier!  All you’ll need is a good internet connection (faster the better for videos), storage for downloads, printer, 3-hole punch & binders!  Its so simple and user friendly!

Would you like to check them out? They have a membership special & a “try for a month” special right now.  Simply click the photo at the bottom of the page. (this is my affiliate link).  You can also go to the link below to read more reviews about this great product!
