Protect your children from porn

This Spring I was reading an article on how many children are exposed to porn and what parents could do to help protect and prepare them. While doing this I ran across a blog and they mentioned a book called “Good Pictures, Bad Pictures” by Kristen A. Jenson. It sounded amazing so I contacted her for a possible review (which I’m doing).

First of all, is this even necessary? I mean, is porn such a huge problem among young children? The answer is a terrible horrible YES! Porn has always been a problem but with the easy access of the internet and electronic devices it has completely exploded. And the people who target your children are incredibly devious and wicked which is why you MUST be proactive!!

I absolutely loved this book and so did my children (ages 11, 8, 5 and 3). They would actually ask me to keep reading the book after we stopped. Each chapter is basically a conversation between a mom and her son. It’s very easy to just read it and it fully explains this issue to your children without you having to think through a sometimes awkward dialogue.

After each chapter there are discussion questions. If you just had one child going through it you could have them journal their answers down to reread. We answered the questions as a family and discussed it in very great detail. Even my little ones understood the difference between a thinking and feeling brain. There are 9 chapters which you integrate into your schedule.

Protect Your Children From Porn

Preparing your children can make the difference between them being exposed (which unfortunately is probably 100%) and knowing how to react to it and not knowing how to react and being filled with shame. Shame is porn’s friend because it causes your child to keep secret what he should expose and be free from. This book helps you as the parent prepare your child to be 💪 strong!

There is also a glossary in the back of unusual terms and more help such as digital downloads you can access. There are also several detailed tips for parents.

I am super impressed with the quality of this book. I highly recommend it for every parent who wants to protect and equip their children from the dangers of pornography. It could be a life-changing book if it prevents a devastating addiction in your son or daughter. Check out her other book for younger children also (ages 3-7).
