The 4th of July weekend is here for our family! And it is hot outside 🙂 We are having a few get-togethers this weekend so here are a couple of our favorite (easy) recipes. Hope you like them!
Stuffed Sweet Peppers:
1 bag of mini multi-colored peppers
1 container whipped cream cheese
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 package thick sliced bacon
toothpicks
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Mix cream cheese and cheddar cheese well in a bowl.
Wash peppers, cut off tops, deseed and slice down one side to open the pepper up.
Stuff peppers full of cheese mixture, wrap in a slice of bacon and pin together with a wooden toothpick.
Bake on a greased iron skillet for approximately 15 minutes or until the bacon is crispy.
Enjoy!
Dutch oven cobbler (in the oven)
1 box cake mix (white is best)
2 cans canned fruit (peach is our favorite)
1 stick butter
cinnamon to taste
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Pour fruit into greased iron skillet (deep one).
Pour cake mix evenly as possible over the fruit.
Sprinkle with cinnamon.
Slice butter into thin slices and dot top of cobbler with it.
Bake for 30-45 minutes until set and bubbly and top is browned.
Serve warm with ice cream!
