Starfall: Screen-Time You Can Love!

Jenny/ October 27, 2021/ Homeschool Reviews

Do your kids love screen-time but you’re a bit hesitant? In our house we severely limit screen-time. (In fact my kids get 15 minutes of screen play a week). But we love Starfall in our home because it’s educational, ad-free and it’s easy to navigate! That’s why we’re reviewing it this week! Keep reading to enter our GIVEAWAY and get a free trial and coupon!

First of all, its available on the computer and as an app. We have the app on our Android phone. As with any online program I still monitor content and time spent. However I feel much better about this one because of the content.

Why choose Starfall as your screen-time?

The setup is extremely user friendly. Basically you login then pick from Pre-K/Kindergarten or 1st-3rd Grade. All your kids can use the one membership. You start wherever you want. There is an absolutely HUGE selection of things to choose from. We’ve used this alot and still haven’t gotten to all of it!

Your children can choose from Math, Reading, Songs, Books and more. The songs are a favorite with all our kids!

Its super easy to choose something for each individual to work on. For example I have the kids work on phonics, math, colors first and then they can do the just for fun areas. Often my kids choose this as their 15 minutes a week game play too! Even my littlest one enjoys Startfall! For example last night she listened to the sing along songs that included folk songs and the alphabet.

The 3 older kids love customizing their avatar on Starfall. They also practice on names of things such as in the kitchen you have to match the name to the object such as “stove” or “refrigerator”. This is good practice for my younger ones especially.

Honestly there is just SO MUCH on this program! While I don’t recommend excessive amounts of screen-time for anyone this is excellent as a learning help plus you can use it when little ones need to sit still such as doctor/dentist appointments or long car rides. It does need internet.

screen-time

As a homeschooling mom it would be easy to set up a simple schedule with this program. Just go through and select which areas your child/children need to work on and then either save those times when you need to be occupied on something else or as needed.

Coming SOON!

Be on the lookout for upcoming 4th and 5th grade in Starfall! This is exciting for me as I currently have a 10 year old🎉.

The whole program is bright, fun and interactive! This is one majorly neat way to add learning without it even seeming like work! I highly recommend Starfall as a great way to spend your screen-time🎉
